Abstract

A study of personal prayer in religioznom discourse leads to the conclusion that in the Russian poetic tradition, this type of discourse has been actively developed in the nineteenth century. The poetic prayer is based on the classical prayer and retains such features as the appeal to the higher power, the presence of a request, the vocabulary of the religious sphere, expressing the concepts of God, hell, heaven, sin, spirit in the Russian religious discourse. At the same time, the ritual tradition of prayer is replaced by a personal work of the author without direct reliance on the canonical sample. Such concepts as fear, law, punishment, love are already system-forming, there is a strong lyrical author’s “I” in it.
