Abstract
This article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of “deception” from the non-verbal side. The concept being studied is one of the fundamental in the life of every person and society as a whole. People deceive for various reasons, depending on the situation, on the specific society in which a person finds himself, depending on the norms and rules a person has to comply. Undoubtedly, people lie not only consciously and intentionally, but often unconsciously and unintentionally. Many people lie out of fear, or by telling a white lie. Most acts of communication are accompanied by non-verbal patterns, which play a significant role in recognition of deception.
