Abstract

The features of plot structure in the novel “Don Quixote” by Cervantes the key element of which is the archetype of “damsel in distress” are considered in the article. It permits the author to satirize the sexual stereotype characteristic for courteous literature of his age. The features of artistical comprehension of “damsel in distress” archetype are analyzed in the article.
