Abstract
The article deals with translation strategies used during simultaneous interpreting into English of Mr. Putin’s keynote address at the 21 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017. The paper analyzes a complex of several translation strategies that are complementary, which improves the quality of simultaneous interpretation. Thus, the strategy of anticipation may be used together with decompression, the strategy of trial and error in a complex with compression and the strategy of waiting together with stalling.
