Abstract

The article deals with the study of the role of choosing a female name in the text as a kind of representative of the linguistic personality of the famous Russian writer and historian Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin (1766-1826). During linguoculturological analysis it was found that in the works of N. M. Karmazin anthroponyms of women’s personal names, names of historical and mythological persons, as well as names of precedent for that time literary heroines are present. Considered in the linguocultural context, the choice of a female name by a writer allows us to make observations about the linguistic personality of the author himself.
