Abstract

The object of research in this article is Emily Bronte’s reflection on Byronism in the novel “Wuthering Heights” (1847). The author of the article concludes that the writer with the help of her personal irony and elements of metaprosy, builds an opposition to the images of the Byronic heroes, that gives an idea of the distance between the discoveries of Romanticism of the early XIX century and their refraction in the mass consciousness of the mid-century.
