Effect of vitamin E on the estrous cycle of WAG/Rij rats

Abstract


In this work the effect of vitamin E on the estrous cycle of rats has been studied. The work was performed on WAG/Rij rats which were administered with vitamin E per os at a dose of 1 mg/100 g body weight for two weeks. It has been found out that after the introduction of vitamin E the cycles became more regular and rhythmic, the total duration of one cycle was reduced, while the coefficient of diestrus increased. The regulatory effect of vitamin E on the estrous cycle of rats has been experimentally revealed.
