Abstract

The article deals with the “own-alien” opposition in sports discourse.The universality of this opposition is noted, the conceptual content of the words “own” and “alien” is characterized. It is concluded that sports competition involves a special emotional mood, which is created by the contrasting opposition considered in the article.
