Abstract

The article examines the most common nicknames of inner-city geographical objects in Ufa. The collected language material is classified according to the object of nomination. The article systematizes the ways of the formation of toponymic nicknames with the identification of their motivation, and also it concerns the issues of connotation, functioning and purpose of urbanonymic nicknames.
