Abstract

An algorithm for calculating the electric field in a multi-element electrochemical system is proposed on the example of an aluminum electrolyzer. The system elements are grouped into three zones: the anode, the cathode, and the electrolyte. At the borders of elements of the same zone, simple conjugation conditions are set. Between the electrolyte and the electrodes, the presence of a double electric layer is taken into account. The algorithm is based on the sequential solution of boundary value problems in each zone by the boundary element method. The project is intended for the numerical study of electric fields in electrolysis technologies.
