Abstract
This article explores the features of slang expression formation in the English language. The author focuses on various methods and strategies of slang formation, including the metaphorical use of words, the transfer of meaning to a new context, and other techniques. The article analyzes examples of slang expressions and describes their formation in social and cultural contexts. Special attention is given to the role of pop culture and the influence of social media on the formation of contemporary slang. The study provides a better understanding of the processes of formation and evolution of slang expressions in the English language and their connection to sociocultural factors.
