Abstract
The article studies the use of the literary device called personification, personification is understood by the authors as a type of metaphor. The book series “A song of Ice and Fire” by G. Martin was chosen as empirical material for the research. Two types of personification have been identified: author’s and classical. The focus of the article lies on the latter and three frames of metaphorical models of its realization can be singled out: X - MAN, X - ANIMAL, X - ORGANISM.
