School nicknames in the system of nominative means of the English language

The article studies the British and American nicknames of schoolchildren and teachers. The structural, semantic and connotative analyses of the lexical units under consideration are carried out. Special attention is paid to the investigation of the most frequent group of evaluation and characteristic nicknames, which, depending on the principles of nomination, are divided into nicknames of visual type, mental type and event nicknames. The conclusions are confirmed by the results of quantitative analysis.
