Урбанизация как многогранный процесс, критерии отнесения населенных пунктов к городским территориям, международная методика определения степени урбанизации заслуживают пристального рассмотрения на фоне пространственных аспектов городского развития в России.

Abstract
Urbanization as a multifaceted process, the criteria for assigning settlements to urban areas, the international methodology for determining the degree of urbanization deserve close consideration against the background of the spatial aspects of urban development in Russia.
